So it has been overcast and raining here the past 2 weeks. We had the worst lighting storm I have ever seen about a week ago. Our building was shaking because of the thunder, the power went out, and the lighting was hitting the soccer field about 100 yards behind my window. Pretty much I do not like the rain and would love to see the sunshine.
Because it has been so rainy, many animals have decided the dorms would be a better home--especially the frogs. On Sunday, a very large frog decided to make our bathroom its home. It positioned itself up against the wall so it would stare at us as we came down the hallway. It was rather gross. Late Sunday night we could not find the frog in the bathroom anymore, so we thought it was gone but we were wrong. On Monday night, I walked into the bathroom with my friend Emma and opened a stall door. The frog was sitting right there in front of the toilet! We ran out screaming. It jumped outside the stall, but was blocking our way to any stalls. We had to go get the hale dad (the dad over our dorm) to get the frog out. He chased it out with a big broom. He said the frog was the largest he had ever seen!
On Tuesday, I was talking to a girl in our hallway (one of the other 3) and I was telling her about our encounter with the frog. She then said that she had seen the frog in the bathroom earlier on Monday, but it had been in the toilet. GROSS!!! I do not like that a frog lived in our bathroom for a day, but it was also in a toilet. We have found 3 other frogs in the hallway since and scream every time we see them, but luckily they are not as large.

friends
Spring Term has been long, but also very eventful. There are not that many students at schools, so you grow really close to the friends you have. I have had a great term and have really been blessed. I am glad to say my friendship with two girls has really grown.
Mary- Mary and I were friends before this term, but pretty much we have become buddy buddy this semester. We did almost everything together. Since I did not have a roommate this term, she hung out in my room all the time. We watched countless movies on the weekends, went to the beach together, ate dinner together almost every night, and made our random trips to Foodland together. I would have to say our best movie night was Jaws. We went and got some ice cream from Foodland and then sat on my bed and watched Jaws and about 4 hours from shark week. We were trying to learn how to avoid a shark attack because we both are a tad afraid of sharks and the North Shore is the number one place of shark attacks in all of Hawaii. Pretty much all we learned was to wear dark colors, stick together, night swimming is really dangerous, and if we were rich we could afford shark repellant or a shark suit. We also saw Water For Elephants and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides together down at Laie Palms Theater. That place smells so gross, but it is worth it because movies only cost $6 with a student i.d. I cannot imagine what I would of done this term without Mary. Dinner at 6 p.m. will not be the same. I loved all our random chats about her crazy roommate or how retarded my academic counselor was!! I will miss Mary this summer for sure!!
Emma- Emma lives 2 doors down from me and has been there since fall. We were always friends, but we never really talked or hung out until this semester. I am so glad that Emma and I became so close this semester. Emma would always knock on my door and then would knock on the wall leading up to the bathroom to make sure I heard her. It was so cute!!! I always knew when she was at my door. Emma and I also became exercise buddies!! I have been trying to get back in shape and it is hard to do it on our own. She is a great motivator and gym buddy. We have had so many little conversations about everything and we are on the same page. The better friends we become, the more we realize we have in common. I am so excited that we will be living in the same house next fall!! We already have plans for many different activities and different food dishes we will make!!!!

packing
I am down to my last week here in Hawaii and a bunch of things are going through my mind at the moment. First, packing my entire life up in two suitcases and one storage bin is a little stressful to say the least. I have a lot of stuff!!! I was thinking about it and basically I can fit my entire life in two suitcases and one storage bin. It is kind of a depressing thought to think about. But I am so excited to go home. I actually started packing like three weeks ago, but the major packing started last Wednesday.
Here is a picture of my desk area (kinda messy, but before I started packing.)
This is my bed (with homework and all) before I started packing. Everything from my bulletin board is now packed away.
I really was excited to get packing and wanted to take more pictures of my room before I took everything down, but I got ahead of myself and did not take them. However, I have taken many pictures of the packing stages. With 8 days till I left, this is what the suitcases looked like (more pictures will come on a later date so you get a better idea of the entire packing process.)
Every suitcase has a label and purpose.....that way I can fit everything. I don't know why the middle suitcase is shut because it was almost full of stuff with 8 days to go.
Packing is not the only thing left on my mind.....there are finals. I have three more finals to take (I have finish 2 classes already) but they won't be too hard. I take them on Tuesday and then I can go crazy with the packing!!! The only reason I have not packed up my entire room already is because my bedding and other items are going in my storage bin....I want them to be washed and clean when I put them in. That means they have to go in at the last minute almost. And since my bedding is so big, it has to go on the bottom of the storage bin. And since I don't know everything that will fit in the bin yet, I cannot completely pack my suitcases yet. But don't worry it will happen soon!!!

bugs bugs and more bugs
So I may say I see a lot of bugs here in Hawaii and I am not kidding. I have been keeping a mental note of all the bugs I have seen over the past 5 days.........
- 7 spiders
- countless mosquitoes (I currently have 5 bites)
- 1 earwig
- 10 black cockroaches
- 4 mystery bugs (This bug was yellow but looked like a cockroach, but because it is yellow, I am calling it a mystery bug)
- 3 frogs
These are just some pictures of some of the many bugs because I cannot always carry my camera around :)
And this is just the last 5 days!!!!!!

(This is the smallest frog I saw. And yes it is right next to our toilet. I dont walk in a stall without kicking the door open first and looking inside)
- 4 geckos (I hear them every night so I know there have been a lot more) These are just some pictures of some of the many bugs because I cannot always carry my camera around :)
And this is just the last 5 days!!!!!!
