The downside of taking 21 credits is that I have 8 finals to take this week!! I am really feeling the pressure. On top of those finals, I still technically have 2 more days of classes, so I have the regular homework to do for that, and 2 more papers to write. This week is going to be so busy!!!! Plus, I am moving rooms this week so I have to find time to pack up my entire room, move it over to the other room, and have it all set up before I go home!!
I also have no motivation to do any of it. I just want to be home, but oh well, I will make it! However, since I did not want to do homework all weekend, Sharee, Mary, and I went and saw Pipeline Masters this weekend. It was so crazy! I have never seen waves so big. They literally were like 10 feet tall each time. When they crashed, they crashed hard. We probably were about 20 yards away from the shoreline, but had to quickly stand up when the tide came up because it was going up that far! I cannot believe how good all those surfers were. I can only imagine what they must go through. Those waves are huge and usually after they finish their run, they jump off their board (or the ocean throws them off). And Pipeline is a famous beach, but it is also known for its huge coral reef. Just imagine. The waves are so huge that when they crash, you get pushed into the reef that is right there!! That has got to hurt. They paused the competition once or twice because one surfer hit his head on the reef, but they kept on going shortly after.
It was such a fun and relaxing weekend. I cannot believe that this weekend will be filled with goodbyes, cleaning, packing, and flying. I am so excited, but I have to make it through this week first. It will be the craziest week yet, but it will be worth it!! I cannot wait to be home for the holidays.

Crazy Weekend!!
As this semester is drawing to a close, I have a lot of work to get done!! I took a break from school this weekend to relax and celebrate. Sharee (one of my roommates) and I decorated our house for Christmas last week. We strung Christmas chains all across the living room, made a string of popcorn to decorate the walls, hung light up snowflakes in front of our window, hung up a real Christmas wreathe and so much more!!! Every day and night we watch at least one Christmas movie on DVD or on television!!! It is starting to feel like the holiday season!!!
This weekend was exciting!! On Friday, we went on an adventure. Mary, Sharee, Sydney, and i went to watch the finals of Vans Triple Crown Surfing competition. It was so cool!! It was just fun to be there and watch! The kid who won is only 19!!! I felt like i haven't accomplished very much with my life because this kid is a professional and won one of the biggest surfing competition in the world!! After the adventure there, we stopped at the Starbucks on North Shore to get peppermint hot chocolate!! It was so delicious!!! We went back to the house and watched a couple of Christmas movies. When we were watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas, I did my roommate Sharee's hair like Cindy Lou Who. She looked so cute!! Since she was all dressed up, we went out for an adventure. The first stop was McDonalds. The workers there were really confused and kept staring!! It was really funny for the rest of us in the car. We went to Foodland after and the little kids loved to stare at her. They were so confused by it. Their faces were priceless!!!
On Saturday, I went to the UH vs BYU football game! I am not really a fan of Provo so I was cheering for UH! We had amazing seats (the second row!!!) and could see all the action. It was really such a fun experience. UH did not do so well in the second half, but it was still fun!!!
Sunday may have been the most exciting day of the week!! It marked two weeks until I am home for the holidays!!! I cannot wait. Also, there was a FIRE in my oven. It was so crazy!!! A couple of girls had made a turkey earlier on in the day and a bunch of grease settled on the bottom of the oven. A while later, a girl was cooking cookies in the oven and we noticed a bunch of smoke coming out from the oven. We opened the door and saw a huge fire!! None of us knew what to do and so we panicked. Luckily a few boys heard us, ran upstairs and threw some baking soda on it. It put out the fire, but it was crazy!! We noticed how our house has no smoke alarms, so hopefully there won't be any more fires. Then the sewer started to over flow! The water was shut of completely and was off for a long time! We had to wait till morning to be able to shower and brush our teeth. It is kinda a weird feeling to go to be and want to wash our face, but not be able to. Luckily, it is back on and we have running water again!!
This past week was tons of fun and crazy!! I am so grateful for all of it!!!

Thanksgiving Break!!
Let me just tell you, I LOVED going home for Thanksgiving!!! It was amazing! I traveled a little under 7,000 miles in all, but every minute was just what I wanted!! There was so much that happened that it is hard to remember everything. First off, I flew home on Tuesday. I was so excited and was ready to leave about 2 hours before it was time to go. I really do hate flying (I still do not know why I picked a school that I can only get to by airplane because I really do hate them) so to distract myself on this flight, I decided I would finish reading my book A Girl with A Dragon Tattoo. It was not my favorite book, but I still finished it. My lovely brother Ryan (who drove down from Provo that day just to spend time with me) came and picked me up from the airport. He had lots of fun stories to share and I was glad to spend time with him because I did not get to see him as much as I wanted over the summer. My parents and dog all waited up to see me, so I said hello and then was off to bed. It was so nice to sleep in my own bed! I really had missed it!!
On Wednesday morning, Ryan and I got up early to do some things for my mom around the house. We fixed the Christmas lights (well Ryan did), put all those boxes away, set up 2 Christmas trees (I moved the furniture and vacuumed the rooms), ran some errands, got down all the Christmas stuff from the attic (there was a lot!!!), and went out to Raising Canes for lunch with my mom and sister, Amy. It was delicious!! I loved walking around outside even though I was freezing because it finally felt like winter time. I loved the cold air and having to bundle up! Once everyone was home, we took off for Salt Lake City.
All of my mom's side of the family lives up in Utah (well like 95% of them) and we all get together every year for Thanksgiving. I never see all my cousins that often, so this is like our yearly get together. The day started off by helping out with dinner and doing Amy, Ashley, and my mom's makeup. I loved it! Dinner was amazing and it was nice to have a large home-cooked meal. I cook myself dinner at college, but on a small budget, a dinner like Thanksgiving is never possible. I enjoyed it so much!!! Everything was just so delicious! After dinner, some of my other cousins came over that had not been there for dinner. It was so nice to see everyone! The cousins I am probably closest to is my cousin Julie. She is so much fun!! Her kids are the closest relatives I have to my age (the picture to the side two of her kids...Amanda, Amy, Jeremy, and me), so maybe that is why we get along so much. Julie and my family have an annual tradition of BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING!!! It is so much fun!! We pretty much spent the rest of Thanksgiving planning our shopping adventure. Everything opened so early this year that there were so many more people this year!! My favorite stores we went to were Wal-Mart and Target. At Target, we waited outside in a line for about an hour in a half. The trip to these two stores was pretty successful and we got everything we wanted. After that though, the other stores were just a bust.
We returned home earlier than ever from Black Friday shopping and maybe got a tiny bit of sleep (more like an hour nap). Julie's family and mine decided to go out to breakfast that morning at a place called Kneader's. It was pretty delicious and was so much fun with the family!! Since I was leaving that night, we had a lot to do in only a short amount of time. I wanted to see my family and cousins for the most amount of time, so our two families pretty much hung out until I left. Julie and I made a run to Costco to grab some other Christmas gifts, I painted Amanda's nails while Amy and Ashley did Brittney's nails, I went to my little cousin Tyler's indoor soccer game (he was really good), and had some good laughs along the way. We returned to my Uncle's house for dinner to eat left overs from Thanksgiving! It was probably even more delicious the second time around!!! After that we just hung out and I got to spend some time with my Grandma. I was really grateful for that.
I then left for the airport. I flew from Salt Lake to Las Vegas. The airport was completely dead and I walked right through security! I actually had my own row on the flight, so I stretched out my legs and enjoyed the space! After landing in Vegas, my good friend Pierson picked me up and took me to the other terminal. I pretty much walked through security there and waited about an hour for my next flight! I love having netflix on my phone because it makes the time go by faster!! After the long flight back to the island I returned home. I really did not sleep for two days (I think I counted about 55 hours of being awake), so I crashed when I got to my bed!!! The rest of the day was spent relaxing and getting used to being in Hawaii again!
I am so glad I got to go home and am thankful I had the chance to. It was exactly what I needed at that moment and it was so much fun to see the family. Holidays are meant to be spent with the ones you love and after being stuck in Hawaii last year, I realized how much I appreciated my family and how much I wanted to spend the holidays with them. Being alone is not as much fun as being surrounded by those you love!

A Thankful Heart
As Thanksgiving is quickly approaching, I realize I have so much to be grateful for. My list could go on forever, but there are some big things this year that I am especially grateful for....
The first thing I am grateful for is my family. It really took me a long time to realize what they really meant to me. I wish I had said thank you more or I love you more when I was closer and had the chance!! I really did not realize what what is front of me. They would drop anything for me and would sacrifice it all for me. Living 2,000 miles away from them really made me see it. I love them so much and I would not want to be in any other family. I am also so grateful for the chance I have this year to go home for Thanksgiving. I really hated being suck on a rock in the middle of the island last year. I am so grateful that I can go see my family this year and that I get to see all of my family this year. I never realized how much of a family Thanksgiving really was until I had to spend it completely away from my family and not with some of my best friends. The people you spend the holidays with really change your mood and perception and I am glad I get to be with the ones I love this year!!!!
I am also really grateful for my friends. This year has really taught me how to be a good friend. I know I have let down many friends in the past, but I am trying to fix that. I have always been someone who had very few really good friends instead of lots of just surface friends. Going away to college really taught me who was really my friend and who was not. I am grateful for everyone in my life and all they have taught me.I heard a quote the other day that went something like this.... "The friends you meet in college and still talk to in college are going to be your friends for life." I really think this is true!! If you really have been a true friend to me, distance did not matter because for some reason I never live in the same state as my best friend for a long time.
I am also grateful for the chance to go to college. Many people in the world cannot go to college because of many reasons and I always knew growing up that college was always in my future. It was never a maybe thing, but more of a question of where I was going to go. I wish I would have made the decision of what college to attend more carefully, but honestly I am finally okay with where I am at. I feel like I needed to go far away from everyone else I knew to learn and grow personally. I also needed to meet some very important people here that would change me for the better.
I am soooo grateful for having a house and a car here in Hawaii. Hawaii is not a cheap place to live in at all. I die almost every time I need to go to the grocery store. I had to go today and to buy a 24 ct Aleve and 2 Icy Hot back patches costs me $24......basically Hawaii is WAYYY overpriced. Having a car here is a luxury and I appreciate that my parents came over to help me find a car for now and when I do my teaching here. It comes in handy every single day and I love it!!! Someone once told me that my car was probably in the top five nicest cars on campus after the president of our school, his two vice presidents, and the boy who drives an audi. I am not saying I drive a porshe or anything extremely nice, but I do really have a nicer car and I take car of it like no other!!!
I am also sooooo grateful for my puppy dog Miles. She is the joy in my life right now!!! I love her so much and I miss her a lot here in Hawaii. When I pack up to leave or go anywhere, she really does get depressed and gives me this look of "you really are going to leave me behind?" and it breaks my heart. However, every single time I come back home, she goes insane and does not leave my side. I always loved that I could say bed time and she would run up onto my bed or I could say car ride and she would run to the door. She is my sleeping buddy and has her own blanket (or my old comforter that she chewed a hole in) on my bed and has her own pillow when she wants. She is so cute when she lays her head on the pillow and has her body underneath the blanket just like me!!!! Miles is my puppy dog and I love her. I miss her a lot and since I cannot call her on my phone, she is the background on my computer, my phone, and has 4 pictures on my wall.
I am grateful for so many things, but if I ever had to make a list...these would be some of the top things I am grateful for. I know I am forgetting many things, but this is a start. Some other simple things I am grateful for are:
-SLEEP and NAPS (if you know me, you know how much I love both of these)
-Slurpees
-My school and faith
-My Bed
-The chance I have to become whatever I want
-The chance I have to own a phone and laptop
-Warm Showers (I do not like the cold at all)
-The sun
-Dry Heat
-exercise and how happy it makes me
-and lots more....but i cannot think of any right now

Crazy College Life
Some times we just need to take a step back to realize all that is happening around us. Life changes so fast that we can get so caught up in the moment and do not really see it. The first thing that is changing around me is.....I will be home for Christmas break in less than a month (Friday marked 30 days!!!). To go home for Christmas that means the semester will end. As this semester comes to an end, I have so much to do. Papers, tests, and final projects are all very time consuming. I am going home for Thanksgiving (in about 48 hours!!!!!) and need to get a lot done before I can go home. I have been working my bum off to get ahead (and I actually think I am) and I think I am almost there.
This weekend was exactly what I needed after my week. I was so focused on getting ahead that I wrote about 16 pages worth of papers (one being my Shakespeare research essay), did a few chapter outlines, and all my regular work!! You can imagine how much I just wanted to relax this weekend because I felt like I was go, go, go all week. This weekend I wanted to take a little break from school for a bit so I decided to have a little fun this weekend!!!
To start, I saw Breaking Dawn. I am not really a Twilight fan, so I do not know if I can give it a fair review. I tried reading the books, but did not like them. The movie was alright. On Saturday morning I played in a soccer fundraiser. It was a fun little tournament and it was fun to play again for a few hours!! It started pouring buckets while we were playing, so I was super muddy when I got home. The rest of the day was spent relaxing with yummy acai bowls (from the best place ever), Harry Potter 7 part 2, ice cream bowl, and popcorn all completed the much needed lazy Saturday.

Countdown and Sleep
I go home in 11 days!!!!!!! This is literally the most exciting thing in my life right now!!!! I have so much to do before I can leave, but I am very excited to be going! I think I will be the happiest person on that plane! In the 73 hour period I am home, I will have traveled on 3 plane rides, been in 4 states, crossed an entire ocean, eat a delicious meal, go black Friday shopping, see my puppy dog, and finally see my family!!!!! So much is crammed into this visit and I actually won't sleep for most of it! I guess that fits my themes right now...lack of sleep.
If you know me, you know I love sleep so much! Naps are my favorite! I do not mind going to bed early at all because I will get more sleep. This week my sleep schedule has been thrown off and I feel as if I am not productive. Tiredness is not a good thing for me! But the weekend is here so I hope I can catch up on some sleep then!
But life is good!!! It is 11/11/11 so do not forget to to make your two wishes as 11:11!!!!

The Quiet House
Houses back on the mainland have numbers. When you are traveling to a friend's house or to someone you know's house, you would call it (insert their name)'s house. This is not true in Hawaii. The houses do have numbers, but this is only for postal reasons. Houses here have names. I live in the Quiet House. Some of my friends live in the Bridge House, The Red House, The Backyard House, The Country Club House, The Goat House and The White House. Houses get there names for different reasons--sometimes is where they are located (Bridge House, Temple House), sometimes it has to do with their color (Red House, Yellow House), sometimes it is used as a describing word (Quiet House, Utah House, Castle House, A-frame House), and sometimes there is no meaning behind it (VIP house, Tree House). Each house has a different personality and mine has a very girlie one.
My house was built specifically to be student housing because we do not have apartments here. There are the dorms (which do not even house all the freshman) and houses people in the community own and rent out. My house was built to accommodate a bunch of girls (38 to be exact!). We have the house with the most amount of girls on campus and it is crazy. Now the house is divided up into parts, so I only see and feel like I live with 10 girls. And to be honest, I do not see all ten of them everyday. Our house can get really crazy at times, but it is very nice. Living with ten girls does not always bring out the best in everyone, but I am living with a bunch of girls, so I feel like it is bound to happen. Every day is a new experience and something to learn and grow from.
My roomies are always bringing home a new and exciting story. We have some crazy stories, fun times, and silly adventures. We laugh at the craziest of things. The picture above does not have all of us, but pretty much sums us up. We actually have to have a 2 quote walls because we say enough stupid, funny, or just quotable things!!!

Adventure Time
So if you know me, you know I call any outing an adventure. When I am bored and you ask me what we should do, I say lets go on an adventure. Adventure is a very vague term that I use to mean anything fun and exciting. This weekend I went on an adventure. But let me back up and go over this week.
It rained every single day and the sun did not shine. It actually felt like fall because it finally felt colder. It was nice and I enjoyed wearing jackets to class every day. I did not have a ton due in my classes this week, but I was assigned a lot of work that is due in the next month. I hate waiting until the last minute, so I have already started some of my projects. By Thursday, I wanted the weekend to be here already!!! I tried to accomplish a lot that night so I would have less to do over the weekend. When Friday came around I was ready....sort of. I felt very tired from the long week, so Emma and I decided to just have a movie night at her house. We made delicious hamburgers and baked french fries for dinner, went on a walk around Laie, and then over to her house to watch some girlie movies. I had never seen Never Been Kissed, so we watched that one first. After a quick intermission of some left over Halloween candy, we put on She's the Man. In my Shakespeare class, we have been studying Twelfth Night all week so I really wanted to watch this movie. Emma completed the night by giving Katie (her roomie) and I manicures. Friday was just the kind of night I needed.
Saturday was my adventure day. Emma, Mary, Sydney (one of my roomies), Sharee (another roomie) and I all went into town for an adventure. We stopped by Target because Mary needed to by a new suitcase. This honestly was one of the largest Targets I had ever seen. They had a two story parking garage that included a huge elevator so you and your cart could get up to the second level. I think we spent a good two hours here. My purchases at Target included this:
I bought the wreath, lights, and the ornaments all for $10!! I was a very happy girl. When I got home, I put it all together with the help of Mary and I love it!!! I feel very festive and holiday-ish now. (48 days till Christmas). Mary and I had also been looking for these cookies for a while now and finally found them at Target. We were so happy to find out that they were also on sale because Halloween had past and they wanted to get rid of them.
When we got home last night, we made a batch (we bought two boxes) and watched Baby Mama. After everyone had finished shopping at Target, we went out to eat. There are very few fast food places to eat over by us, so we definitely wanted to get something good while in town. We decided on Wendy's because it was less than a mile away and a frosty sounded delicious!!! After food, we went to Pearl Ridge Mall. This mall is literally right next to Aloha Stadium (University of Hawaii's stadium) and since there was a game yesterday, traffic was a mess. This mall is really cool because it has two different parts. It is like two malls very close by and you take a little shuttle from one side to the other. It was nice to feel like I was in a city again and not just out in the country. I am definitely a city girl at heart.
Our crazy adventure was complete with singing, laughing, and being our funny selves. I am so glad I have Rapunzel (my car) to get us around and take us on many adventures!!! It really is the best car ever!!!

Rain
This is the weather forecast for the upcoming days. Some male think Hawaii is all sunshine but not always. Fall/winter season has officially started. Our colder part of the year basically means it rains everyday all day long and is not very sunny. It is not that cold, but is cold at the same time. I wore a jacket to school today. I can just imagine how much I am going to freeze when I go to Utah over Christmas break.
Three Weeks!!!
Three weeks from today I am going home for Thanksgiving!!! I am so excited and cannot wait!!! I feel very blessed that I am able to go home this year in more ways than one. Looking back on it, I almost feel as if I needed to dislike being in Hawaii on Thanksgiving to ensure I would be going home this year. It is really cool to see how things work out like that.
This year I am really forward to just being with my family so much. My trip will be super short but totally worth it!!! One of my favorite activities I will be doing is BLACK FRIAY SHOPPING!!!! It will be so legit and I really missed it last year. It has been tradition for almost 5 years now that I go with my cousin Julie to help get her kids Christmas presents. It is such much fun and very crazy at times!! Let's just say that I missed it so much last year that I have super high expectations for this year.
Three weeks until I embark on my trip that will last about 80 hours and will involve 3 plane rides (12 hours) and a 6 hour car ride. Pretty much I will not be sleeping during this trip but it will be worth it!!!!

Exercise and Eating Healthy
I have been very active my whole life. Some of my first memories I can remember about moving to Las Vegas is me joining a soccer team. From that movement on, I have always been involved in sports. My senior year of high school--however--I started to get really lazy. I was eating like junk (this was nothing new) and was drinking 1-2 very large slurpees each day. At practice we were not training as hard, or I was sick and could not practice, or even injured. This is where my problem started. I had never really thought about what it took to be in shape and thin because it had always come so naturally. However, about half way through the summer before my freshman year of college I realized I needed to become more active or eat less, but I choose neither. College was not my friend at all. I was eating at funky times, not getting enough sleep, missing home, and not exercising. I made my new resolution to lose all the weight I had gained within the last year.
When I first got back to school in the beginning of the year I was not really sure how I was going to be more healthy, but I knew I wanted to. I honestly do not think I really made much progress during those first 3 or 4 months because I would eat healthy all week and blow it on the weekend by eating tons of pizza or desserts. During early spring I decided I was going to work more on the exercising part of being healthy. I started to exercise almost daily, but I really did not make much progress because I was not fully committed. My goal for the summer was to get healthy.
I really did make progress over the summer through different diets and going to zumba weekly, but I did not notice my progress. I decided I was going to keep up being more active and eating better when I got to school. Eating healthy at school is actually easier than I thought it would be. Food in Hawaii is not cheap at all. Produce is one of the most expensive items you can actually buy here because most of it is actually imported. However, the school has this farmers market I go to every three weeks that has some of the best deals on produce you are ever going to find. When you have complete control over what you eat and food is very costly, you tend to buy less of it I have noticed. That has been one of the best things that could of happened to me along my goal to be fit again. My portion size has decreased simply because buying more food is not plausible right now. I saved just enough money to only allow myself to spend so much weekly on food. That money does not go very far, but it gets me a healthy amount of food. I have also found that pilates is not only a great workout, but a nice stress reliever. It helps me calm down after a long day. Pilates also works my whole body which is soooo nice!!
I am happy to say that I am 5 pounds away from being where I want to or what I was at the beginning of senior year and I am so excited. I literally gained so much weight and became so inactive that it was not good for me at all. I am glad that my hard work is finally paying off and that I was able to really commit so I could achieve my goal.

Hawaii again!!
So I haven't blogged about my life in a long time and it is about time I get around to it. Life is going pretty well at the moment and a lot has changed lately. I am back at BYUH but this time I live off-campus. Off-campus living is SOOOOOO much better here than the dorms. I feel like I can go to school and do all that, but I am able to escape from school and relax when I am home. It is a really nice feeling.
I live in the Quiet House top right now and it is the best!!!! This house is up on the Laie Point which basically means I literally sit up on my bed, look out the window next to my bed, and I see the ocean! We have a very large balcony that is really nice to go on. I pretty much fall asleep to the ocean sound every night. In my room there are four girls, and in my little section of the house there are 10 of us (the house has 38 girls in all)!! It can get crazy, but I have some of the best roommates ever. We are always going on roommate dates or having little parties which is so much fun! I have a full kitchen which is the best since I love to cook. My roommates say I make the best college food they have ever seen sometimes!! I think my favorite part about school this year in my car!! Her name is Rapunzel and she is a big golden beauty!! I seriously love my car so much and it is a big blessing and help to have her.
School is really crazy, but that is mostly because I am taking 21 credits this semester....and they are not easy classes. I feel like I am always doing homework, but it is a good feeling because I would rather be busy than bored!!
I really want to post up some pictures of my new house, room, and car, but I did something bad when I moved to Hawaii. I always seem to lose 1 thing when I am moving and this time it was my camera charger. I still do not know what happened to jewelry case and jewelry that I lost coming home in spring and now I cannot find this charger. I guess I will need to be more organized!!! But pictures will come eventually when I get around to buying a new charger for my camera.
Since I did not blog all summer, here are some of the more important details from my summer. At work, I dropped and broke my beloved droid. I did not know my phone could break in two pieces, but apparently if you drop it hard enough, it is possible. As a result, I bought myself an iPhone 4 (and yes I bought it!!!). I really love it so much. It is very different than a droid, but every single day I am learning a new trick and fall in love even more. This summer I also found out that my parents love me so much that they are letting me come home for Thanksgiving this year!! Well, they bought me a ticket so it is possible for me to come home!! I am so excited and cannot wait for Black Friday shopping and all the delicious food!!! This summer I also made many new friends and love them dearly!! They were some of the coolest people and helped make this summer fun! I also went to Lake Powell this year which was really nice. I used to go ever summer growing up, but once high school hit and I started having a job and cross country, things got in the way and I wasn't able to go for 4 years. It was so much fun to see all my cousins and family. Another really cool thing that happened was I was able to meet my niece Lauren. She was born in April, but I was at school until June so I was the last aunt to finally meet her.
I think that is all for now!!! This post is super long, but there was a lot to share. But I hope everyone has a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!

Rainy Days and Frogs
So it has been overcast and raining here the past 2 weeks. We had the worst lighting storm I have ever seen about a week ago. Our building was shaking because of the thunder, the power went out, and the lighting was hitting the soccer field about 100 yards behind my window. Pretty much I do not like the rain and would love to see the sunshine.
Because it has been so rainy, many animals have decided the dorms would be a better home--especially the frogs. On Sunday, a very large frog decided to make our bathroom its home. It positioned itself up against the wall so it would stare at us as we came down the hallway. It was rather gross. Late Sunday night we could not find the frog in the bathroom anymore, so we thought it was gone but we were wrong. On Monday night, I walked into the bathroom with my friend Emma and opened a stall door. The frog was sitting right there in front of the toilet! We ran out screaming. It jumped outside the stall, but was blocking our way to any stalls. We had to go get the hale dad (the dad over our dorm) to get the frog out. He chased it out with a big broom. He said the frog was the largest he had ever seen!
On Tuesday, I was talking to a girl in our hallway (one of the other 3) and I was telling her about our encounter with the frog. She then said that she had seen the frog in the bathroom earlier on Monday, but it had been in the toilet. GROSS!!! I do not like that a frog lived in our bathroom for a day, but it was also in a toilet. We have found 3 other frogs in the hallway since and scream every time we see them, but luckily they are not as large.

friends
Spring Term has been long, but also very eventful. There are not that many students at schools, so you grow really close to the friends you have. I have had a great term and have really been blessed. I am glad to say my friendship with two girls has really grown.
Mary- Mary and I were friends before this term, but pretty much we have become buddy buddy this semester. We did almost everything together. Since I did not have a roommate this term, she hung out in my room all the time. We watched countless movies on the weekends, went to the beach together, ate dinner together almost every night, and made our random trips to Foodland together. I would have to say our best movie night was Jaws. We went and got some ice cream from Foodland and then sat on my bed and watched Jaws and about 4 hours from shark week. We were trying to learn how to avoid a shark attack because we both are a tad afraid of sharks and the North Shore is the number one place of shark attacks in all of Hawaii. Pretty much all we learned was to wear dark colors, stick together, night swimming is really dangerous, and if we were rich we could afford shark repellant or a shark suit. We also saw Water For Elephants and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides together down at Laie Palms Theater. That place smells so gross, but it is worth it because movies only cost $6 with a student i.d. I cannot imagine what I would of done this term without Mary. Dinner at 6 p.m. will not be the same. I loved all our random chats about her crazy roommate or how retarded my academic counselor was!! I will miss Mary this summer for sure!!
Emma- Emma lives 2 doors down from me and has been there since fall. We were always friends, but we never really talked or hung out until this semester. I am so glad that Emma and I became so close this semester. Emma would always knock on my door and then would knock on the wall leading up to the bathroom to make sure I heard her. It was so cute!!! I always knew when she was at my door. Emma and I also became exercise buddies!! I have been trying to get back in shape and it is hard to do it on our own. She is a great motivator and gym buddy. We have had so many little conversations about everything and we are on the same page. The better friends we become, the more we realize we have in common. I am so excited that we will be living in the same house next fall!! We already have plans for many different activities and different food dishes we will make!!!!

packing
I am down to my last week here in Hawaii and a bunch of things are going through my mind at the moment. First, packing my entire life up in two suitcases and one storage bin is a little stressful to say the least. I have a lot of stuff!!! I was thinking about it and basically I can fit my entire life in two suitcases and one storage bin. It is kind of a depressing thought to think about. But I am so excited to go home. I actually started packing like three weeks ago, but the major packing started last Wednesday.
Here is a picture of my desk area (kinda messy, but before I started packing.)
This is my bed (with homework and all) before I started packing. Everything from my bulletin board is now packed away.
I really was excited to get packing and wanted to take more pictures of my room before I took everything down, but I got ahead of myself and did not take them. However, I have taken many pictures of the packing stages. With 8 days till I left, this is what the suitcases looked like (more pictures will come on a later date so you get a better idea of the entire packing process.)
Every suitcase has a label and purpose.....that way I can fit everything. I don't know why the middle suitcase is shut because it was almost full of stuff with 8 days to go.
Packing is not the only thing left on my mind.....there are finals. I have three more finals to take (I have finish 2 classes already) but they won't be too hard. I take them on Tuesday and then I can go crazy with the packing!!! The only reason I have not packed up my entire room already is because my bedding and other items are going in my storage bin....I want them to be washed and clean when I put them in. That means they have to go in at the last minute almost. And since my bedding is so big, it has to go on the bottom of the storage bin. And since I don't know everything that will fit in the bin yet, I cannot completely pack my suitcases yet. But don't worry it will happen soon!!!

bugs bugs and more bugs
So I may say I see a lot of bugs here in Hawaii and I am not kidding. I have been keeping a mental note of all the bugs I have seen over the past 5 days.........
- 7 spiders
- countless mosquitoes (I currently have 5 bites)
- 1 earwig
- 10 black cockroaches
- 4 mystery bugs (This bug was yellow but looked like a cockroach, but because it is yellow, I am calling it a mystery bug)
- 3 frogs
These are just some pictures of some of the many bugs because I cannot always carry my camera around :)
And this is just the last 5 days!!!!!!

(This is the smallest frog I saw. And yes it is right next to our toilet. I dont walk in a stall without kicking the door open first and looking inside)
- 4 geckos (I hear them every night so I know there have been a lot more) These are just some pictures of some of the many bugs because I cannot always carry my camera around :)
And this is just the last 5 days!!!!!!

BLOGS!!!
One of the requirements for my education degree is to take a class called Educational uses of technology....and basically it means that we the students are going to learn how to make blogs, wikis, web pages, and youtube videos so we can use them in our own classrooms. I just had to watch a video on the importance of blogs. While watching it, I got the urge to write a new post on my blog....so here it goes.
Blogs are important and should be read because they are simple filled with news. This news may not be important to you the reader, but it was important news to the blogger or else they would not be writing it. I have never really thought about a blog as a digital form of news, but it is. I am writing down what is important to me and what I think other people would be interested in. My passions or love are what I write about. Some people have certain themes to their blogs and that is their own news. A newspaper is not filled with just a sports section or a business section, but rather a combination of multiple sections. My blog may only be about my life, but if you take all the 73 million (it was in the video) blogs out in the world and put them together, you would have one giant digital newspaper. That is an interesting thought....

new term
So school started again today...and it was nice. In 45 more days I will have 43 credits and be about halfway done with college!! But as a new semester starts, I think back to my break and how amazing it was. When I went home for a week, I had a blast. I slept less on the break than I did during finals week--which is weird--but so worth it.
During my week home I did a lot of interesting things. Here is a nice list of what I did.
First, after being picked up from the airport, my dad took me to get a nice slurpee! It was so delicious and I definitely have missed them. After that we went to Amy and Ashley's dance competition. I love watching them dance!! It was so cool and both of them are so talented! Amy's prom was that night so I kinda helped her get ready (mostly watched) and took tons of pictures!! I then went back to the dance competition to watch Ashley dance some more and see the award show. Pretty much I went to bed around one a.m. on Sunday and had been up since seven a.m. on Friday!!! It was intense.
Sunday I mostly slept and hung out with my family!! It was so nice to be home and sleep in my own bed! My mom made a nice lovely home cooked meal of spaghetti (MY FAVORITE!!!) and I was in heaven. I got to hang out with my nephews, see my brother and his wife, and my dog which was fun!! The thing I was most surprised about when I went home was how quickly everyone is growing up. I was just home at Christmas and I feel like my sisters are so old and mature now!!!
On Monday morning I flew to Salt Lake and hung out with my sister Liz and her husband Dave for a couple of days!! They were very nice for letting me go see them for that time period. While I was there we played a lot of bowling (real bowling and wii bowling). I never really won a game which stunk because I used to be so good at wii bowling. Liz and Dave taught me how to really bowl and not just throw the ball down the lane. After some nice practice, I think I may be able to bowl normally from now on. Liz made some delicious dinners while I was there and that was really nice. I missed good food while I was in Hawaii. The caf is just not the same as a home cooked meal. While in Utah, I go to go to my cousin Brittney's birthday celebration. She was so excited to see me. Her whole family is so cool. Julie (Brittney's mom) may just be my favorite cousin and she keeps on trying to get me to move up to Salt Lake. I must say, I would have so much fun up there. Amanda kept saying how much she missed me and didn't want to leave my side while I was at their house and it was nice!! I loved hanging out with them. On Tuesday, Liz, Julie, Brittney and I all hung out and went to lunch and the temple!! It was tons of fun and I am glad I got to do that while I was home!!
When I flew back to Las Vegas I got to hang out with my sisters a lot!! I also drove a lot which is nice because I miss driving (and kinda have forgotten how to drive a bit). Amy and Ashley were a blast and always had new things to say to me. Ashley was so cute when we picked her up from dance. She was upset that she could not miss school on Friday to spend more time with me and was really trying to convince my mom to let her stay home. On Thursday I also went to a documentary movie with my brother Dave about the Foo Fighters. It was really neat and I got to watch them play their new album and it was pretty good.
Friday was a really fun day! I went and had a massage and facial with my mom which was so nice!! Every college kid should get a massage at the end of their semester!! I then went to Yogurtland with my mom and Ashley and had some really nice frozen yogurt. At the store there was a taro flavor which reminded me of Hawaii. Saturday was a nice, fun, and relaxing day. We got a lot done during the day, went swimming, and had a delicious bbq. I forgot how good grilled chicken and steak was while in Hawaii. It was a very nice way to end the vacation!!

i cant decide
I really like to change my mind a lot. I usually know what I want and just go with it, but lately I am having difficulties. I am not like this in all parts of my life....only school. There are some pretty big choices ahead of me and I just do not know what I want to do. I know what I want to be when I am all done with college and I know what I am going to do after college, its just the getting there part that kind of stinks. Everyone around me has noticed how indecisive I am and always asks me what my latest plans are. If would be right if I even knew. Pretty much it comes down to this.....money and time. I can choose between two things....one is cheaper and will take less time and the other longer, more expensive, but has other benefits. If you do the money math, the first choice looks AMAZINGLY better (and I think I just made up that word). However, the time math is not the same. Why should I be in a rush to grow up?? It would be kind of cool to say I graduated college at age 21 and had my Master's before age 24, but where does that really get me in life? I don't know, hence the problem.....I can't decide. Distance is another issue.....the second possibility is such a better location (in my opinion). Isolation is not something I do good with. Now if I had more money, the second option would be perfect, however, if I had this money, the travel costs would not be a problem so option one wouldn't be that bad after all. And there is my problem....
It is all a matter of finally making up my mind...either choice is good and will greatly change my life. However, since it is finals week and my most important tests are in the next two days....it is not the greatest issue on my mind. However, since it is such a big decision I cannot seem to get it out of my mind at all so that I can study so I am writing about it.
When someone once told me college is a little crazy and stressful, they were not lying. School does get a tad stressful, but I love the challenge!!! I like the challenge most of the time. Now to get back to studying for statistics......did I mention I may become a math teacher????? Crazy, I know.....but I have to do everything to make sure I can get a job once I graduate and math is the subject they need the most teachers in.

last weekend of winter semester
As this semester comes to a close, I think of what I this weekend. It was filled with some crazy things and new adventures. Friday was filled with class, a run down to Foodland, laundry (which took forever) and a bridal shower. I have been a few bridal showers before, but never for one of my friends or someone my age. I felt really old and a bit out of place. But the shower was so pretty and tons of fun!!! After spending $4.50 on laundry, I can say that if I owned more jeans, I could go about six weeks without needing to do laundry.
Saturday was a very busy day. It was filled with homework and finishing my online class. I had to take a final for it and it was not that hard!! 2 classes down, 4 more to go!
Sunday was a very nice day, except for waking up at 6 a.m. With the time difference, I had to wake up super early to watch conference. It was very nice and well worth it!! After conference was all the way over, it was lunch time in the caf. The caf was serving its specialty of mystery meat with some sauce over it, so I went for the usual Raisin Bran with two pieces of toast (one covered in peanut butter and honey, and the other with cream cheese and sugar). It was delicious as always. While walking back from lunch, Hailey and I decided to do homework outside because it was a nice day. It seems as if the nice sunny days always happen on Sunday when I do not want to go to the beach. (sidenote: I really never want to go to the beach anyways). We quickly found we couldn't concentrate outside to where we moved inside. After candy, soda, and chocolate cake we finally sat down and cranked out homework for finals week.
Finals week will be crazy and stressful, but we will see how it goes. There is one final on Monday, then one on Wednesday, two on Thursday, one on Friday, and then.............I FLY HOME!!!!!!!

FRIDAY!!!!
So I am having a problem lately. I cannot sleep anymore because I keep thinking about things. Mostly it has to do with the upcoming school year and going home in a week from today. I keep making lists in my mind of what I want to do before I leave, what I am excited to leave behind, what I still need to do, and what I am taking home with me. Because the only way I can get these lists out of my brain is to share them, here is one....
Things I will not miss
1. BUGS- Hawaii has some of the craziest and largest bugs I have ever seen. I look forward to the day when I will wake up and not have a new mesquito bite on my leg, or walk into the bathroom covered in ants, see huge spiders in the corners, or have neighbors think they have a cane spider in their room.
2. Animal noise- Falling asleep to a gecko noise may sound nice, but it does get annoying after a while. The roosters on Saturday morning at 6 a.m. may be the noise I look forward to leaving behind most. But a very close second would be all the birds that are outside my window. When you are trying to study for finals their chirruping is not so pretty.
3. Rain and cloudy days/humidity-I love the sunshine and dry heat. The rain is nice when it comes once or twice a year. Everyday is a tad annoying after a while.
4. Caf food and sack lunches- Cereal, oatmeal, toast, and pineapple get boring after a while and I cannot wait till I get to cook my own food!!!!
Things I will miss (kinda)
1. Not doing my hair ever- I now have gone 25 days without blow drying, straightening, or curling my hair. I get to sleep in for so long because getting ready in the morning takes half the time. I really like that and will miss it (only a little).
2. Laid back-ness (only a little bit though) Do not get me wrong, Hawaii is an amazing place to vacation to. It is so calm and peaceful here. However, when you are a person who is always on time, likes to get things done early, and move at a faster pace, it starts to annoy you after a while.
These are just a sample of all the things going through my head. Because my brain is always on, I am getting a lot done though. Since I have so much to do this is super nice.
And I leave in one week for my fake spring break. I cannot wait to be back in Vegas for a week. I am counting down the hours literary. I will be leaving for the airport in 7 days 4 hours exactly. I am so excited!!!!! However, leaving requires packing and planning out what I will take home, so another list is also being created and revised in my head!!!

as the end draws close...
The semester is drawing to a close and I feel I should reminisce on my favorite parts of it....so here is my top 5 memories or favorite things of the semester in no particular order
1. Parasailing--So we went parasailing one weekend and it was the coolest thing ever!!! It was very windy and overcast that day, but as soon as you were up in the air it was so calm!! If i could ever do it again, I would in a heart beat. (Check fb for pics)
2. Pizza and movie nights--Hailey and me were famous for getting pizza (from Domino's of course) and watching movies. We watched some pretty weird movies off Netflix, but it was still so much fun. Let's just say if Domino's had a deal going on, we knew about it
3.My Roomie--Hailey was the funniest roommate ever and I love her to death!! Everyday was an adventure. We would always ask each other when the other one would be home from work because we wanted to hang out. My roommate last semester (Mary) had the idea that Hailey and I should be roomies and she had the best idea ever.
4. Angel's halo--Since there is no 7-11 close, I had to settle for just Angel's halo this semester (but it is really delicious). So what is Angel's halo? Two scoops of vanilla ice cream, condensed milk, a huge pile of shaved ice with blue Hawaii and pineapple flavoring, more condensed milk, and whip cream. It is a close second after slurpees.
5. Snorkeling--This was so much fun!! We saw so many fish and they were all very colorful. We also saw three sea turtles and they were all about an arm's length away!
This semester was a ton of fun, but I cannot wait to get back for summer!!! Everyone knows I am a big city girl. Every time I walk outside at night I am amazed at how many stars there are in the sky and people think I am crazy sometimes because I just stare at the stars. But I don't think I have really ever seen this many stars almost every night.

hey there!
So I am very excited that the semester is coming to an end. I don't really want to do homework and finish all my assignments right now so I am making a blog. My life is pretty interesting or at least I think it is. I am not really a "write it down" type of person but I am constantly on my computer or phone, so "typing it all down" is my thing. So here goes my blog. :)
